The catastrophe continues today with contaminated groundwater and soil surrounding the abandoned factory. A survey of the area suggests children born in the contaminated areas are more likely to have congenital birth defects and neurological damage than the average child in India. \n  \nPerformances this evening will feature: \nBrigitte Chataignier: Bhopal Blue\, a dance video\, blending contemporary dance and Mohini Attam\, a classical form from the southern state of Kerala in India\, sent from France on the theme of inter-generational effects of disaster and trauma. \nChristine Germain: contemporary dance duet seven years in the making about the Union Carbide Gas Disaster in Bhopal \nJudith Kajiwara: Butoh dance company exploring the Chisso Mercury Disaster in Minamata Bay\, Japan \nLeslie Schneider on vocals and Ben Kunin on sarode: Hindustani song Zahirili Hawa from the play Bhopal by Rahul Varma \nMegan Dogra: short video made on her Spring Break visit to Bhopal when she was in tenth grade \nSamson Koletkar: stand up comedy on corporate responsibility and integrity\, or lack thereof \nStan Sprague: poetry to inspire \nTerry Alan: Flames not Flowers\, a short video on the role of women in the struggle for justice in Bhopal”
