A marvelous blend of music and oratory, falling somewhere in between concert and theater, A Winter Gift presents joyous pieces of beloved holiday music woven into seasonal Celtic legends, Irish and English stories of winter, and traditional folk beliefs. Master of the spoken word Patrick Ball draws out tales such as A Child’s Christmas in Wales, a chapter from The Wind in the Willows, and passages from Shakespeare, William Butler Yeats, and Thomas Hardy, seamlessly mingled with the gorgeous Celtic harp, Irish bouzouki, and mandolin playing of Lisa Lynne, and the artistry of Aryeh Frankfurter on Celtic harp, Swedish nyckelharpe, and cittern.
