DESCRIPTION:The MeshugaNutcracker \npresented by Guggenheim Entertainment \nhttp://themeshuganutcracker.com \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkk1RmxDzC0 \n  \nThursdays-Sundays\, December 4-14\, \nThursday-Fridays 7:30PM\, Saturdays 2:00PM and 7:30PM\, Sundays 2:00PM \nMarines’ Memorial Theatre\, 609 Sutter Street\, San Francisco\, 415-673-6672 \nsee website for ticket information \nhttps://www.cityboxoffice.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=1981 \nhttp://www.marinesmemorialtheatre.com \n  \nThursday-Sunday\, December 25-28\, \nThursday 2:00PM and 7:30PM\, Friday 7:30PM\, Saturday 2:00PM and 7:30PM\, Sunday 2:00PM \nHeritage Theatre\, 1 W Campbell Avenue\, Campbell\, 408-866-2700 \nsee website for ticket information \nhttps://www.vendini.com/ticket-software.html?t=tix&e=b779bbdeb0958c3f2f9b10a590026bda \nhttp://www.cityofcampbell.com/heritagetheatre \n  \n“The libretto tells the tale of eight Chelmniks (citizens of Chelm\, the fictional town of fools) who gather once a year to perform their Chanukah festival. Through the course of the two-act musical\, they tell eight stories which celebrate and honor the triumphs of Chanukah heroes from the time of the Maccabees through modern day – all in their delightfully foolish Chelm style. This new Chanukah production has all the right ingredients for a very happy holiday: take the beautiful and melodious music from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet\, mix in eight poignant and witty stories celebrating the miracle of Chanukah\, and add a pinch of Chelm for flavor. Add twirling chanukiot and you’ll have visions of sufganiot dancing in your head. Some might call it crazy\, we call it… The MeshugaNutcracker! \nThe MeshugaNutcracker! is a full length musical performed in two acts. It runs approximately 2 hours including a 15 minute intermission. Latkes (potato pancakes) and sufganiot (jelly doughnuts) will be available before the show and during intermission. The show is appropriate for all audiences but recommended for youth who are able to sit through a Pixar film.”

Yes?  Then you know what a great time it is\, and we will see you there!  No?  Well it’s never too late to start.  Since we have hundreds of years of waltz music to choose from\, the variety makes a wonderful\, festive evening.  This is a casual\, neighborhood party: a chance to meet people\, bounce around\, and generally make merry.  We’ll have a potluck; you are welcome to bring snacks if you like.  Your hosts always bring the punch and water.  No alcohol\, please\, as we sometimes have dancers under 21 attending. \n  \nAll are welcome for the lesson\, so we can get you moving and ready to sail across the floor.  If you’re new to dancing we promise to be patient with you\, and if you have waltzed before we will improve your technique.  After class\, during the dance party\, we will still be available to help you with what we taught you\, and introduce you to some of our regulars.  They are well skilled\, but don’t be shy about asking them to dance with you too.  They’ll probably be happy for the chance to show off. 🙂 \n  \n  \n8:00-9:00PM = Lesson in Vintage Waltz – no partner or experience needed \n9:00PM-Midnight = Dance to Persephone and guest DJs playing lots of waltzes\, and a little bit of many other partner dances.”

High-energy excitement swirled between decadent layers of clown\, acrobatics\, and dance: a crystal-studded fantasy world starring a bashful\, brazen\, and very wayward ingenue who simply can’t keep her sequined shoulder pads on. Oh… and a dance party if you’re good! A showgirl\, her yearning\, and her little blue chair. Directed by San Francisco clown luminary Dan Griffiths. Appropriate for 14 and up.”

True Life Trio and Gari Hegedus have been commissioned by the East Bay Fund for Artists to create Like Never and Like Always\, a new performance piece that traces a life journey with Eastern European folk songs\, poetry\, movement\, and original music. This exciting world premiere will take place at the uniquely beautiful and resonant Rose Labyrinth where the audience surrounds the performers. Viewing and experiencing the piece from different vantage points mirrors the shifting perspective\, perceptions and realities that are a main tenet of the piece. Like Never and Like Always promises to engage the senses and stir the soul.”
