We’ll raise our voices in song\, laughter\, and blessings as the Wheel turns\, and connect with the divine light within and around us. \n  \nThe ritual will be led by Sharon Knight\, an internationally touring musician performing her own style of Celtic-inspired folk rock\, which she calls Neofolk Romantique. She is the co-founder (along with guitarist Winter) of the Gothic-Tribal-Folk-Metal band Pandemonaeon\, and collaborated with Thorn on two CDs\, Songs for the Waning Year and Songs for the Strengthening Sun. In addition to performing and recording\, Sharon also offers workshops in Sonic Alchemy\, in which sound is used to orchestrate psychic and spiritual breakthroughs. \n  \nAs always\, Solar Cross Devotionals are simple rituals designed to honor the Gods and Goddesses and to gather community together. Join us again in the East Bay hills to greet the sun on Solstice morning! Wear layers and bring drums\, shakers\, tambourines\, flutes\, tubas\, etc. and maybe a thermos of hot beverage. If you have a favorite sun-song\, bring lyrics to share\, and we usually do a spiral dance just after dawn. \n  \nGather at the parking lot at Inspiration Point in Tilden Park about 6:40AM\, to allow about 10 minutes to walk or roll to site. At West end of parking area\, go around gate and up paved road beyond it\, marked as Nimitz Way\, which is a paved\, mild uphill grade\, wheelchair/stroller accessible. You’ll see folks on a grassy clearing on your right (could be muddy and wet!)\, with beautiful view of horizon to the East (if it’s clear\, which could happen).\nSteady rain cancels. Fog or misty rain\, we’ll be there.”
