Statements on Values and Diversity

Adopted by the Board of Directors of the Pantheon Foundation October 5th, 2014

The Pantheon Foundation is committed to diversity and inclusion.  We relied on guidance from our Board of Advisors to draft policies that are in alignment with our values and the needs of the Pagan community. We will review and update these policies as needed, and we welcome your feedback.  Thank you.

Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Commitment

Pantheon Foundation is committed to providing equal opportunity for all our employees, contractors, consultants, volunteers, and vendors, in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws.  We will not discriminate with regard to race, color, national origin, religion or creed, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, or ability status.  We extend this spirit of inclusiveness to donors, customers, and members of the general public. We require our sponsored organizations to commit to and uphold these values in their own operations.

Diversity Commitment

Pantheon Foundation supports the diversity of the Pagan community through its fiscal sponsorship of Pagan organizations, by fundraising for causes of concern to Pagans, and by generating resources that benefit Pagan media and scholarship. Pantheon Foundation also seeks to increase access to resources that may otherwise be inaccessible to underserved groups.

Through these efforts, Pantheon Foundation is committed to inclusivity within the Pagan community, including, but not limited to, race, color, national origin, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, class, age, and ability status.

Pantheon Foundation’s commitment to diversity will be reflected within our pedagogies, our sponsored organizations, and our leadership.

We support Pagan theological diversity and recognize that a wide array of beliefs and practices are constantly emerging within the Pagan community.

Operational Accountability Statement

Pantheon Foundation is committed to serving all Pagans, Pagan organizations, and projects, within the bounds of our mission and non-profit status. We expect the persons, organizations, and projects we serve to likewise abide by standards of just, ethical, and safe conduct. In keeping with our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we maintain the right to decline affiliation with any organization that intends to marginalize others. However, we recognize that some groups we serve may work specifically with historically under-represented constituencies in order to promote justice and equity in our community.

The Foundation seeks maximal transparency and accountability in its operations, while maintaining proper and legal bounds of confidentiality and privacy.

To this end we will publish an annual report on our finances and those of our fiscally sponsored organizations and projects. As we grow in complexity and activity, we will increase the publication frequency appropriately.

Likewise, we will publish news of our projects and activities and solicit feedback from the communities we serve.

Further, we shall establish an advisory council of sponsored organizations and projects, and of other community leaders and constituencies to ensure that the Board of Directors and operational staff are accessible to community input and accountable to the community’s will.

Sexual Conduct and Safety:

Pantheon Foundation will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, abuse, or coercion. Our sponsored organizations must adopt detailed sexual conduct and safety guidelines to protect the physical and psychological well-being of minors and adults.

We urge all Pagans and Pagan organizations to understand the ethical and legal necessity of creating cultures of consent, safety, and mutual respect.
